Play as Same Character
Begin a one player game and quickly lose a life. Press Start on controller two and select the same character. Begin game play, then press Start to have player one appear as the same character.

Additional Continues
Play as player one until almost all lives have been lost. Press Start on controller two to resume game play with more continues.
